Papa John’s Salads and Produce Recalls Superfood Salad Due to Undeclared Allergen
Papa Joh’s Salads and Produce of Tolleson, Arizona issued a recall on July 12, 2018 for 148 units of Superfood Salads due to the undeclared allergen, peanuts. Those with a severe sensitivity or allergy to peanuts risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the products.
The product was mistakenly packed with peanuts instead of the cashews indicated on the label. Affected product was distributed to stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming from July 9, 2018 to July 10, 2018 and served from the Deli Service Cases from July 9, 2018 to July 11, 2018.
The indicated product has a consumer UPC code of 2541465#### or 207080#### and the last 4 digits (indicated with ####) are denoted by the price of the product.
PictSweet Recalls Steam’ables Baby Brussel Sprouts Due to Undeclared Allergen
The PictSweet Company issued a recall on July 13, 2018 for 960 cases of Pictweet Farms 12-ounce Steam’ables Baby Brussels Sprouts due to the undeclared allergens, milk and soy. Those who have a severe sensitivity or allergy to milk and/or soy allergy risk serious or life threatening allergic reaction if the product is consumed.
The recall is limited to the Pictsweet Farms 12-ounce Baby Brussels Sprouts with the UPC code 0 70560 97731 9, having a production code beginning with 1508K, and a “BEST IF USED BY” MAY 30, 2020. No other Pictsweet Farms products are impacted by the recall.
The product was distributed to Alabama, California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The recall was initiated after the company discovered the butter sauce that contained both milk and soy allergens were included in the packaging but the labels did not indicate the presence of these allergens.
No illness or allergic reaction has been reported in connection with this recall.
ALDI Recalls Hawaiian Poke Kits Due to Incorrect Storage at Store
ALDI issued a voluntary recall for AnnaSea Wasabi Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits and Limu Ahi Poke Hawaiian Poke Kits from several select stores on July 14, 2018 due to incorrect storage.
The products are required to remain frozen until consumption. The affected store location displayed and sold the products in their cooler section. It is unsafe to consume product that has dropped below freezing temperature. Only product sold in the cooler section are included in the recall. Any product purchased from the freezer section is not included in the recall.
The product can be identified as Wasabi Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kit, Limu Ahi Poke Kit with UPC code 99221 00110 and Limu Ahi Hawaiian Poke Kit with UPC code 99221 00109 with best by dates of 5/23/2020, 6/11/2020, and 6/14/2020.

Maryland
Virginia
No reports of illness or injury have been reported in connection to this recall. Consumers are urged to discard the affected product immediately or return to their local ALDI store for a full refund.
Utz Quality Foods, LLC. Recalls Potato Chips Due to Undeclared Allergen
Utz Quality Foods, LLC issued a recall on July 16, 2018 for their Carolina Style Barbeque Potato Chips due to the undeclared allergen, soy. Those with a severe sensitivity or allergy to soy may risk serious or life threatening allergic reaction if the product is consumed.
The recall was initiated after discovering that certain packages were mislabeled. The recall consists of retail outlets in Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine. Mississippi, North Carolina, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia.

No reports of illness have been linked with this recall. Consumers are urged to not consume the product and return it to the place of purchase for a full refund or exchange.
Hy-Vee, Inc. Recalls Spring Pasta Salad due to Reported Illness
Hy-Vee, Inc. of West Des Moines, Iowa issued a recall on July 17, 2018 for their Hy-Vee Spring Pasta Salad due to potential contamination with Salmonella. Salmonella is a serious illness that can range to mild flu and gastrointestinal symptoms to severe complication. The very young, the very old, and those with a compromised immune system are more susceptible to complications.
The recall was initiated after approximately 20 illnesses in Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Iowa were linked back to consuming the salad. The recall affects the 1-pound and 3-pound packages of spring pasta salad produced between June 1, 2018 and July 13, 2018 that was available at the deli service case.
The affected pasta salad was distributed to all of Hy-Vee’s 244 grocery stores in the eight-state region that includes: Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The product can be identified as packaged in a plastic container with a plastic lid. The expiration dates range from June 22, 2018 to August, 3, 2018.
Out of an abundance of caution, the grocery chain issued a recall and removed the product from the shelf after notification.
Portland French Bakery Recalls Pub Buns Due to Undeclared Allergen
Portland French Bakery of Portland Oregon issued a recall on July 18, 2018 for 26,635 units of Seattle Sourdough Pub Bun 6pks and 8,022 units of Franz Premium Pub Bun 12pks due to the undeclared allergen, soy. Those with a severe sensitivity or allergy to soy risk serious or life threatening allergic reaction if the product is consumed.
Affected products were distributed to Alaska, California, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Utah through United States Bakery distribution systems between June 24, 2018 and July 17, 2018.
The recall was initiated after a labeling problem was discovered during label and packaging review by the firm. The packaging did not reveal the presence of soy. No illness has been reported in connection with this recall.

H-E-B Recalls Two Variety Packs of Creamy Creations Ice Creams Due to Potential Mechanical Contamination
H-E-B issued a recall on July 18, 2018 for two variety packs of Creamy Creations ice cream and sherbets in 3-ounce cups due to broken metal found in processing equipment during routine maintenance. Consuming metal pieces could cause serious injury.
The potentially affected product was only distributed to H-E-B stores in Texas. The affected product was not distributed to the Houston area or Mexico.

Shearer’s Foods, LLC Recalls Dill Pickle Flavored Potato Chips Due to Undeclared Allergen
Shearer’s Foods, LLC of Massillon, Ohio issued a recall on July 20, 2018 for Food Lion Brand 7.75-ounce packages of Dill Pickle Flavored Potato Chips due to the undeclared allergen, milk. Those with a severe sensitivity or allergy to milk risk serious or life threatening allergic reaction if the product is consumed.
The recall was initiated after a customer suffered an allergic reaction and the incident was reported to Food Lion. Shearer’s Foods, LLC investigated the situation and discovered that the product that contained milk was distributed in packaging that did not indicate the presence of milk.
The affected products were distributed to Food Lion stores in Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia between December 1, 2017 and July 19, 2018.
The product can be identified as packaged in a 7.75-ounce bag with UPC code 035826103925. See chart below for specific lot information.
Gift Tree Recalls Sherman Candy Caramels
Gift Tree, a gift basket company in Vancouver, Washington issued a recall on July 20, 2018 for 94,000 units of Sherman Candy Caramels sold online in several Gift Baskets due to undeclared allergens, pecans, walnuts, almonds, and/or peanuts. Those who have a severe sensitivity or allergy to these nuts risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

These gift baskets were shipped directly to consumers nationwide from July 1, 2017 through July 16, 2018.
The recall was initiated after discovery that the caramels ingredients could potentially include those allergen ingredients but the finished “Sherman Candy Caramels” do not indicate their presence on the product packaging.
The company is urging consumers who purchased or received gift baskets that contain the affected Sherman Candy Caramels who have an allergy to pecans, walnuts, almonds, or peanut to not consume the product and dispose of the Sherman Candy Caramels.
